In 1987, a businessman tried to set up a jeans shop in the Cihampelas area. Because the price of jeans sold is still relatively expensive, so it is less attractive to buyers. Finally the entrepreneurs market clothing made of jeans at a cheaper price. After getting a good response from the community, followed by other entrepreneurs to fill the road. Cihampelas continues to grow. When it used to be just a jeans shopping center, now there are various other fashion products and turned into a factory outlet area (FO) and has been crowded with hotels, cafes, malls, and street vendors.
Another attraction for visitors is the decoration of giant fictional figures that adorn shops along the way, such as Spiderman and Superman, and become an amazing sight for children.
